Lisbon by campervan
From the beautiful Algarve, we continued our journey to Lisbon. Luckily, we were able to return the campervan early. Driving a campervan through Lisbon wasn't much fun. To put it mildly, it was hell. First, we went to our hotel, Hotel Mondial (highly recommended) to leave our luggage. A very nice, clean, and stylish hotel with a rooftop terrace. After that, we had to drive what felt like all of Lisbon to return the campervan. Everything went completely smoothly; we double-che

Tips and tricks
We're trying to gather some tips here that we've found elsewhere, researched ourselves, or revised. We're trying to present them to the best of our knowledge, but we're also grateful for any corrections you might have. We'd love to include any great tips you might have that could help others. Now things are getting serious...
Since we decided in January 2022 to emigrate from Germany and find a country that would treat us well and where we would feel comfortable as a base for our world trip(s), a good two years have now passed. Then the house. Once these essential steps were completed after just 11 months, we

In Portugal with a campervan
To escape the bad weather and the Christmas stress, we decided to fly to Portugal on December 24, 2023. The first hurdle was finding a direct flight on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, there was only one airline available for day R......r. We hadn't heard many good things about this company. And yet, we booked anyway. Unfortunately, we couldn't use our carry-on suitcases, which we had bought specifically for our trip around the world. The dimensions were obviously wrong, and the

Why Cyprus?
We get asked that a lot. And yes, after careful consideration, we decided to set up our new base camp there, from where we'll begin our exploration of the world. So why Cyprus? Well, first and foremost, we wanted more sunshine than we had in Germany. For the last six months, we've practically never seen the sun. It really gets you down. We don't want that anymore, period. Furthermore, Cyprus is a very beautiful and charming island with something for everyone: In the most extr

Portugal trip 2023/2024: good and not so good
To put it simply: the beautiful or wonderful impressions clearly dominate. What we particularly enjoyed, or rather, what stood out to us most positively: The friendliness and hospitality of the locals, in contrast to some other countries we've visited. They never made us feel like we were just tourists or intruders. A relaxed way of life. The smooth, anticipatory driving style of the locals, again in contrast to the other countries we visited. Many of our driving mistakes, es
