What we noticed in Cyprus
Neutral At first, we were naturally confronted with driving on the left, which was quite a challenge. But after a short adjustment period, we also got used to the special rules of the roundabout. Once you understand the rules, you find them much better than in Germany. The architecture of the houses is completely different from Germany, very simple. Even the relatively new houses often look run-down. At first, we were surprised to see metal supports sticking out of the tops o

Day 3 - Avakas Gorge
After a very relaxing second day with a delicious breakfast at a local taverna, followed by a day at the beach snorkeling and reading, today, on the third day, we're going on a long hike through the... AVAKAS GORGE Fortified by a delicious warm baguette with various toppings and a very tasty omelet from Hari's Restaurant – a cool location with friendly service – we approached the gorge via a detour due to roadworks. We drove as far as our little car (without four-wheel drive)

Day 1 - Cyprus, Paphos, Pegeya, here we come...
Cyprus is also on our shortlist. It's supposed to have a similar climate to Mallorca, the scenery is beautiful, and the locals are friendly and laid-back. Dubai - a fascinating country
The starting point for our world trip?? Dubai A fascinating country! The first step into our new life. Great anticipation is building, and the planning for this amazing trip begins. Flights and hotels are searched for and booked immediately without hesitation. (Without checking where the hotel is, but more on that later.) Of course, we wanted to experience as much as possible. There are so many sights and so much to explore that it's really hard to decide. We watched a lot of

Dubai - the emirate of contrasts
Our first big trip outside of Europe took us to Dubai for various reasons. Kerstin will surely report on it. We noticed the following contrasts on site, which we will examine in the individual sections: Expensive - Cheap Rich - Poor Hot - Cold Modern - Traditional Big City - Deserted Area Security - Surveillance Clean - … Dubai is often viewed disparagingly by our acquaintances as a synthetically constructed city with a glossy, high-gloss appearance. We were there, albeit on
